Tips on going to the Beach alone

Whether traveling or in your hometown, we often find ourselves going to the beach alone. We enjoy the breeze, sun tan on the towel, take a dip or sometimes even build sand castles.

Often when we want to take a dip in the seemingly cold water, we find ourselves in a dilemma; do we risk going in and leaving our possessions or do we take our possessions and risk getting it soaked in salt water?

The answer to this dilemma is you can choose to do both. Well, maybe not getting it soaked with salt water, but here are tips of what to do if you find yourself in the beach alone.

1) Carry a waterproof bag

In the 21st century, we have more options to finding water proof bags. there is a wide range of options available, but my personal favourite are these dry bags. Check out the store page for buy the Bohemian Nomads Dry Bag for only $12.00 AUD.

2) Bury the treasure

This is a trick I usually do at the beach, I take a case (often a sunglasses case), I put my money and phone in the case and bury it under my towel. Though with this method, remember where you bury your possessions, you don't want to lose your things because you forgot where you hid it.

3) In plain sight

This method of hiding belongings requires you to have an empty bottle of sunscreen, modified to open and close for easy access. I can safely say, not many people steal sunscreen from other patrons at the beach.

4) A phone Pouch

For those who want to take pictures in the water, and can't handle not taking selfies, take a phone pouch to the water. This way, not only will you keep your phone safe, but you can #selfie all day long.
